Common questions
Which adapter should I buy?
Any ELM327-compatible OBD-II adapter that uses Bluetooth LE (Bluetooth 4.0 or later) or Wi-Fi. vLinker adapters work well. Adapters that only support classic Bluetooth (often sold for Android) won't work with iPhone.
Amphora can't find my adapter
Plug the adapter into the car's OBD port and switch the car on (ready mode is best). Then choose it in Settings → Adapter. Adapters often appear as OBDII, vLinker, IOS-Vlink or similar. Don't pair it in iOS Settings → Bluetooth: Amphora connects to it directly. Make sure Amphora has Bluetooth access in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Bluetooth.
I'm using a Wi-Fi adapter
Join the adapter's Wi-Fi network in iOS Settings, then choose Wi-Fi in Amphora's Settings and check the address and port (usually 192.168.0.10, port 35000). Allow Amphora local network access when asked.
The readings look wrong
Check the model chosen for your car in Settings → Your cars. Amphora suggests one from the VIN, but some years and regions use different batteries. Hyundai and Kia support is experimental; if your figures look off, please report them.
Amphora couldn't read my car's VIN
Try reconnecting. A single-car unlock is tied to the VIN, so a car whose VIN can't be read can only be unlocked with Fleet.
How do I restore a purchase?
Purchases follow your Apple Account. On a new phone, or after reinstalling, tap Restore purchases in Settings. Fleet can be shared with your family through Family Sharing.
How do I get a refund?
Refunds are handled by Apple. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Is it safe to use while driving?
Amphora only reads data and never changes anything in the car. Don't use your phone while driving: check your battery when parked or let a passenger do it.
